Most MZ’s have lung issues. Some worse than others. More alpha-1 would cool inflammation. People know there own body more than anyone. I would definitely think about changing the guidelines for the “protective threshold”. Most MM’s are in the high 20’s and 30’s. Why? These MM’s are healthy non-smoking. I believe the protective threshold is higher than they think it is.
I uploaded this Vimeo video to RUclips. I can agree to a certain extent with your comment. But at the "end of the road" there is no safe serum threshold. Alpha-1 doesn't start the "fire" in the lungs. There is always a "spark" from the "environment" and the Alpha-1 Antitrypsin is the extinguisher of the "fire". If we have low or no Antitrypsin it won't be enough to "extinct" the fire which slowly keeps "burning" chronically (emphysema). An MM lifetime smoker will create a lot of "dry firewood" that eventually will get a spark and, oops, the MM have the same emphysema-fire as an MZ, SZ, ZZ, MNull, SNull, ZNull, or NullNull. I believe lung disease can be prevented so it won't be deadly. If you are in the risk zone you have to work on improving other parts of the protective immune system by choosing a healthy clean air environment, diet, and sea-level altitude is crucial...

Use a volt meter not that light stick, Thermostat wiring is the problem. Bypass the thermostat wiring and wire it direct to see if it is the heater or the thermostat.
I had the same issue with the same thermostat and blower, the thermostat was bad!
Whatever that pen was, showed no value whatsoever. Its most likely your thermostat wiring is wrong.
